GODSMACK Might Launch Acoustic Tour In November
August 2, 2007The Pulse Of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: GODSMACK is currently on a North American tour that comes to a close later this month, but fans might have one more chance to see the group this year. Singer Sully Erna told The Pulse of Radio that the band is thinking of doing some special shows this fall to commemorate its 10th anniversary. "We may possibly run in November, a small three- or four-week tour doing the acoustic show again," he said. "Hopefully before the holidays hit, we're gonna release a greatest hits record for our 10th year anniversary, accompanied by a live acoustic show that we filmed in Las Vegas. It's really, really filmed well and sounds great, so that's kind of like what we're trying to accomplish in the immediate future."
GODSMACK last played acoustic shows in 2004 to promote its acoustic EP, "The Other Side".
The band next plays on Friday (August 3) in Las Vegas.
GODSMACK will utilize 19 cameras to film its show next Tuesday (August 7) at the Sturgis Bike Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota for a live DVD. Singer Sully Erna commented in a press release, "GODSMACK is more excited about this show than any other show we've played in the last decade." Erna added that the band is planning its "biggest show ever" for the event.
In addition to the greatest hits set, the group may issue a 10th anniversary box set containing all four of its albums along with "The Other Side".
ANOTHER ANIMAL, the side project featuring the other three members of GODSMACK, will release its self-titled debut CD on October 2.
